The premise
I didn’t come into this with a computer science degree or years of formal training. Most of what I know came from taking other sites apart, breaking my own projects more times than I’d like to admit, and sitting with a problem until I understood why it wasn’t working.
The work isn’t glamorous most days. Sometimes it’s an hour spent tracing one broken layout down to a single setting. What kept me in it wasn’t talent, it was curiosity, and a habit of not walking away from a problem until it was actually solved. These days, that habit shows up as knowing which tool fits a client’s problem, instead of forcing every project through the same one.
Lately that curiosity has me going deeper into SEO, and exploring generative AI and AI-driven marketing automation, not to replace the people-first part of the work, but to get faster at the parts that used to eat the most time, so there’s more room left for the problems that actually need a custom answer.
And every time a site goes live and looks the way the client pictured it, that part never gets old.
