Overview

Bayview Apartments is a holiday apartment property in West Hobart, offering six apartment types from one-bedroom harbour view units to three-bedroom family apartments. Bookings are the whole business here: every “Book Now” on the site needs to check real availability and rates, and ideally send the guest straight to a direct booking instead of losing them to a third-party OTA. This was a full revamp end to end: a move to new hosting, a redesign and redevelopment, and wiring in SiteMinder’s Book Direct engine so the site itself could handle live rates and reservations.

The Challenge

A holiday rental site lives or dies by how easily someone can check dates and book. The revamp needed a clean move to new hosting, a booking search visitors could use right on the homepage, live rates and availability instead of static pricing, and a path to direct bookings that didn’t lose guests to commission-charging OTAs.

• Migrate the site to new hosting without disrupting an active booking business
• Redesign and rebuild the site in WordPress with Elementor
• Integrate SiteMinder’s Book Direct booking engine so rates and availability are live, not static
• Build a homepage booking search, check-in, check-out, room type, guest count, promo code, that feeds straight into the booking engine
• Present six apartment types clearly, each with its own details and live pricing Support seasonal promotions, like early-bird and flash-sale pricing, without needing a developer to update the booking system every time

The Solution

01. Migration and foundation

Moved the site to new hosting first, so the redesign and the booking integration had a stable, clean foundation to build on instead of layering onto the old setup.

02. Redesigned and rebuilt in Elementor

Redesigned the site end to end and rebuilt it in WordPress with Elementor, structured around what a guest actually checks before booking: apartment types, facilities, gallery, and reviews.

03. SiteMinder Book Direct, wired in

Integrated SiteMinder’s Book Direct booking engine, with custom code connecting the homepage’s date and room search directly to live rates and availability, so guests can check and book without leaving the flow.

The Results

A migration that didn’t interrupt bookings

The move to new hosting happened alongside an active booking business, without taking the site down or disrupting guests already checking rates and booking stays.

A booking search that leads straight to real availability

The homepage’s date and room search connects directly to SiteMinder, so a visitor can check real rates and availability without leaving the site or waiting on an email reply.

Promotions the client can run without a developer

Seasonal offers are set up to be swapped in and out on the client’s side, so a flash sale or early-bird promo doesn’t need a support ticket to go live.

Six apartment types, one consistent structure
Each apartment, from the 1-Bedroom Harbour View to the 3-Bedroom Standard, has its own page and live pricing, built on a repeatable template rather than one-off pages.
